After trusting us with previous home renovation projects, this client came to Heartland Home Improvements once again, ready to transform their kitchen that had long outlived its original 1960s charm.
The space was functional, but dark and cramped, with limited counter space and storage.
Their vision was to transform the space into a kitchen that feels light, modern and perfect for everyday living.
Here’s a closer look at the transformation:
First, We Said Goodbye to a Dated Kitchen That No Longer Met Today’s Needs.
The original kitchen, complete with lime-green flooring, small counter space and limited cabinetry, had served its time. Though well-kept, the space didn’t meet the homeowner’s need for storage or functionality.
Then, We Completely Reimagined the Space for Modern Cooking & Living:
Our team started fresh. Everything was demo’d and replaced with upgraded products in a new, smarter layout.
Key updates include:
- Expanded storage with added boxed-in cabinetry around the refrigerator and extra space for all of the essentials.
- More counter space was created by moving a microwave above the stove, clearing up valuable workspace for prep and cooking.
- Improved lighting with added recessed ceiling lights, plus under-cabinet and above-sink fixtures.
- Better flow was created by widening the doorway into the living room, opening up the space to allow for effortless transition between rooms.

Every detail, from added counter space to intentional lighting, was designed to make daily life easier and more enjoyable. The result is a new kitchen that feels open, welcoming and tailored to how our client lives.
